The Historic Scotland Scottish Explorer Pass is the key to 5000 years of Scottish history. A one-price pass that gives you FREE entry to 70 pre-historic monuments, castles, palaces, abbeys and cathedrals.

The Pass is great value and will pay for itself within approximately two to three visits.

All of these 70 top historic attractions are listed in the FREE full colour multi-lingual map which is sent out with every Pass purchased on-line.

Amongst the most famous historic attractions included are:

• The awe-inspiring pre-historic village of Skara Brae with the best preserved group of Stone Age houses in Western Europe.

What is Historic Scotland?

Historic Scotland has more than 300 properties in its care and welcomes around 2.9 million visitors each year to over 70 properties where admission is charged. The agency has a commitment to encourage knowledge about Scotland's built heritage and provides guidebooks and other publications.

How does the Pass work?

The Pass is validated at the first property you visit and continues for 3, 7 or 10 non-consecutive days. That means you can chose a pass which is valid for either 3 out of 5 days, 7 out of 14 days or 10 out of 30 days. We offer the pass in the following three categories: "One adult", "Two adults" and "Family". The family pass is valid for 2 adults and up to 4 children under the age of 16. Other than the family pass there is no reduced child pass available on our website. Children under the age of 5 get in free.
